While in Los Angeles this weekend I may have been playing the role of “talent guest,” in Staten Island I was being treated as talent. The amazing and generous people at Wagner College produced a reading of my new play Stray, which was the winner of their “Stanley Drama Award” earlier this year. I unfortunately couldn’t make the trip out this time (the above photo was taken at the award ceremony in April), but had a lovely chat with Staten Island reporter Lisa Anne Williamson who also happened to be playing the role of Tanya in the reading. You can read her article in the Staten Island Advance here.
And just as a quick correction – the play hasn’t actually been workshopped with Abingdon Theatre yet, it was simply shortlisted for their Christopher Brian Wolk Award. Which was a very cool honor as well, so I’m not complaining.
