Earlier this fall, my friend Autumn wrote to ask if I might have any plays I could share with her director friend Jessica Ammirati, who has a company in New York called Going to Tahiti Productions. I sent Jessica a couple of plays, and within weeks she wrote back saying she’d like to produce FULL DISCLOSURE. And here it is, opening already! Very exciting. Hope you can make it if you’re in NYC.

STRAY opens tonight at Working Class Theatre in Rochester, NY. The director, Laura Dellavilla, was a student at Wagner College when the play won the Stanley Drama Award, and decided to present the play with her brand new company in Rochester. The company sounds awesome, so if you happen to be in the area, I hope you’ll check them out at www.workingclasstheatre.net

In particular, LAist really seemed to dig it. The LA Times had a few small quibbles, but really captured the experience, and the mission of the company.

After making a round of readings last summer with Reverie Productions in New York, Cypress College in Orange County, and The Road Theatre in LA, HELL MONEY is now in rehearsals for a full production in LA, opening April 1st! Using Chalk Rep’s signature style, the play will be produced site-specifically in a downtown apartment, where the audience will be able to watch Julie and Katie’s world spiral out of control in front of their eyes. It’s a fast and crazy comedy, and probably the most foul-mouthed thing I have ever written, so it should be a very fun night of theatre for all. Chalk Rep is gearing up for a Los Angeles run of my one-person play Full Disclosure, starring Amy Ellenberger. We’ll be performing in private homes around LA and we’re still working out the schedule, but in the meantime the show is in great shape! The Mentor Project production of my play STRAY opens Tuesday March, 16! The process has been incredible, and the mentorship on the play invaluable. The script has grown a lot since the Los Angeles production, so I hope you’ll come out and see it!

Ruth McKee’s racially charged play underscores homogeny’s fragile nature, and questions whose responsibility it is to care for the “strays” of the world.

The cast includes Emily Ackerman, Brianne Berkson, Anthony Hagopian, Petronia Paley, and Lisa Ramirez. It’s directed by Giovanna Sardelli, and mentored by David Henry Hwang.
